Cushman & Wakefield India was awarded a coveted rank of 38 in the Top 100 Great Places to Work in India, as well as the Best Company in the Real Estate Sector by the Great Place to Work Institute.
Every year, Great Place to Work® identifies India's 100 Best Companies to Work For (with employee strength more than 500) through an objective and rigorous workplace culture assessment process. This recognition is awarded to firms across industries based on a comprehensive Trust Index and Culture Audit that details the initiatives undertaken by the organisation, as well direct employee feedback on the firm and its programs. The survey and write up are exhaustive, and cover 15 pillars that make for a great workplace culture, namely Hiring, Welcoming, Inspiring, Speaking, Listening, Collaborating, Grievance Redressal, Thanking, Developing, Balancing, Supporting, Including, Celebrating, Rewarding and Contributing.

TOP 100 GREAT PEOPLE MANAGERS INDIA 2020
Three managers from Cushman & Wakefield India have made it to the list of Forbes’ Top 100 Great People Managers in India 2020. These are: Manish Goel, Managing Director, Project & Development Services, Investors, Shashi Bushan, Project and Development Services, Occupiers, and (Late) Chandramowliswaran Balasubramanian, Director- Operations, Property Management Services India.
Great Manager Institute annually conducts the Great People Manager Study, the largest study of its kind, in partnership with Forbes India, which culminates in the recognition of top 100 managers who show exemplary leadership of their teams. They undergo a rigorous process to identify individuals with effective managerial skills and an organisation which nurtures great people managers.
In 2020, Great Manager Institute reached out to thousands of entrepreneurs and managers, to find the 100 greatest people managers in the country. There are seven founders, 26 CXOs and 38 senior managers while the rest comprise middle and junior managers. The list has 83 men and 17 women. The 2020 study witnessed participation from 1,158 organisations spread across 24 industries and 6,344 managers were assessed.
The common thread that runs across all great people managers is that they are authentic in building relationships of trust with their people. They think and act ahead of the curve. They use technology and digital tools to their advantage. It is no surprise that many of these managers have had a smooth transition to the new normal world, while leading teams for the same impact.
The post-COVID era has paved a way for new digital workplaces. And yet, the role of managers as anchors and drivers of highly engaged and productive teams continues to stand. Great people managers, with their ability to connect, develop and inspire team members will continue to be a ray of hope for employees and organisations alike, building a path for a better tomorrow.

INDIA’S 100 BEST WORKPLACES FOR WOMEN: Ranked in Top 10
Cushman & Wakefield India was ranked in Top 10 of India’s 100 Best Workplaces for Women, awarded by Great Place to Work Institute. This recognition is a mark of a truly equitable culture created at the firm and was bestowed after a rigorous assessment featuring direct feedback from women employees on key parameters of diversity and inclusion.
Great Place to Work® Institute is a global authority on building, sustaining and recognizing high-trust, high-performance workplace cultures. Every year, more than 10,000 organizations from over 60 countries, across more than 20 industries partner with Great Place to Work® Institute for assessment, benchmarking and planning actions to strengthen their workplace culture.
As part of their annual research in India, the institute assessed 852 organizations this year, to identify India’s 100 Best Workplaces for Women – 2020.
Of the 852 organizations, 516 organizations met the eligibility criteria; where:
- Women formed at least 10% of the overall workforce in the organization.
- At least 70% of women employees shared positive feedback in the Trust Index© survey conducted by Great Place to Work®
An essential part of an exhaustive write up and employee survey, this recognition is awarded to those who are playing a pivotal role in the D&I space, working towards furthering the recruitment, retention and advancement of women in the workplace.
Cushman & Wakefield India boasts of numerous policies and practices for women, spanning across various ages and stages of an employee’s life. A few noteworthy practices are the Returnship Program, for women who have had long gaps in their working career, the Surrogacy Leave of 6 months; the same as Maternity and Adoption Leave, the Child Travel Policy for working women to travel with their child and nanny, among others. Additionally, Cushman & Wakefield’s employee resource group WIN (Women’s Integrated Network), whose mission is to accelerate the advancement of women at the firm, currently has more than 2,500 members in 48 chapters around the world, with the 2nd India chapter being launched in October 2020 in Delhi-NCR.

100 BEST COMPANIES FOR WOMEN IN INDIA 2020 (BCWI)
The Working Women & Avtar award for 100 Best Companies for Women in India (BCWI) was a testament of our efforts in the Diversity and Inclusion agenda. Cushman & Wakefield India has received this recognition for the 4th consecutive year.
The study is conducted by Avtar, a premier Diversity & Inclusion firm, along with Working Mother, a celebrated gender parity champion in the United States. This is the fifth consecutive edition of the Best Companies for Women in India in 2020. The study, over its past editions, has established itself as corporate India’s most comprehensive gender analytics exercise. Every edition of the study has had over 300 companies participating, culminating in the Top 100 Best Companies for Women.
In 2020, the BCWI Study was launched in February, and 321 companies, spanning every major industry, geographical location and business were amongst the applicants. The application form itself is exhaustive, with close to 300 questions, requiring applicants to submit data of high-order granularity on their practices, programmes and policies to ensure gender inclusion at the workplace.

EXEMPLARS OF EXCELLENCE: MOST INCLUSIVE COMPANIES IN INDIA 2020 (MICI)
Working Women & Avtar has awarded Cushman & Wakefield India the “Exemplars of Inclusion Award” for 100 Most Inclusive Companies in India (MICI).
The study is conducted by Avtar, a premier Diversity & Inclusion firm, along with Working Mother, a celebrated gender parity champion in the United States. The Most Inclusive Companies Index (MICI) was a study first launched in 2019. This study, in its second edition, is aimed at helping organisations understand gaps in demographic representation, and provide a strategic roadmap to drive internal change, to find and implement Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) solutions. The key segments that MICI covers are:
- Diversity representation across the key strands of diversity, including gender, generation, people with disabilities and the LGBTQIA+ community
- Practices of fostering diversity and inclusion in recruitment, retention and advancement of people from diverse groups.
- Company culture of inclusion
In 2020, the MICI Study was launched in February, and 158 companies, spanning every major industry, geographical location and business were amongst the applicants. The application form itself is exhaustive, with close to 150 questions, requiring applicants to submit data of high-order granularity on their practices, programmes and policies on their diversity representation and inclusion practices.
Cushman & Wakefield India secured this coveted title for the 2nd year in a row, owing to its inclusive and transparent practices, with close focus on gender parity, building inclusive spaces for members of the LGBTQIA+ community through sensitisation and support campaigns, creating a workspace and culture that provides growth to employees across all generations, and also for creating a tolerant and accepting workplace that celebrates all religions equally.
