Webinar | Data Centres in Australia Driving the Sustainability Agenda

As the world’s demand for data increases exponentially, hyperscale revenue forecasts alone indicate that the industry will triple to exceed half a trillion U.S. dollars by 2026. As interest and investments into the sector grows, however, there will also be a significant impact on the global carbon footprint for data centres, which currently accounts for more than 2% of global carbon emissions (on par with the global airline industry at pre-pandemic levels).

According to our 2022 Global Data Centre Market Comparison Report External Link, Asia Pacific’s data centre market continues to grow at a relentless pace and is set to become the world’s largest data centre region over the next decade. Within the region, Australia is gaining more and more stature as a prominent global market, with Sydney ranked third in Asia Pacific’s top 10 primary markets External Link, and growing secondary and tertiary locations in Melbourne, Canberra, Brisbane, Darwin and Perth.

It is estimated that Australia will become a 1GW data centre market within the next few years. Based on the sheer size and scope of the sector, and its impact on the environment, operators face an obligation to promote more sustainable choices and solutions and have responded by becoming powerful voices for sustainable change.

In a recent webinar, our subject matter experts were joined by below industry specialists from key data centre companies – Fujitsu External Link, NEXTDC External Link, Equinix External Link, and Microsoft External Link - that operate a range of data centres from 1MW edge locations to 90+MW hyperscale and colocation facilities across Australia.

WEBINAR DETAILS | Wednesday, 6th July, 2pm AEST
(9.30am IST, 12pm CST/SGT, 1pm JST/KST)
