1 The Opportunity
Havas Group is the world’s fastest-growing global business communications group. This world has grown ever more complex since the breakup of the full-service agency model at the end of the 70s, when creativity, media and knowledge went their separate ways. The firm was on the lookout for a new concept that would integrate all services working together within the same office building, integrating a workstation strategy adapted to its needs in order to improve the quality of client centred work.
As part of the new business strategy, Havas Groupset about evaluating the elements that could be combined within a single office space that was both flexible and open. The first Havas Village concept was launched in 2012, a head office based on a client-centric model already operating in 46 cities worldwide, with all agencies under the same roof. This unique workstation strategic model could put an end to the operational divisions and complexities between agencies, incentivising staff to seek out a new, more flexible and collaborative style of working.
Havas Group didn’t hesitate to bring the Havas Village concept to Madrid: With the assistance of our Office Agency team, a lease was agreed for the building at no.10, Eloy Gonzalo, comprising 7 floors and representing a benchmark for business in the area. Our Project & Development Services team then swung into action to implement this new business culture strategy.

02 The Solution
HAVAS VILLAGE represents a revolutionary office concept. Its philosophy is based on creating, sharing and learning, and this translates into an open, multi-purpose space that enables work in different areas, whether open or closed: for meetings, experimentation and discoveries in the same location. The offices were designed with the interior space very much in mind and with the absence of walls. The aim is to foster ever-changing capabilities that can be adapted to multiple uses according to employees’ needs.
There are 6 office levels with a similar layout of fixtures and fittings, providing flexibility to enable the future growth of the business. In addition to these floors there are two special areas that complement and set the head office apart: a ground floor for working with clients and visitors consisting of a café, showroom, client meeting area, training areas and courtyard, as well as a top floor with leisure and lunch area for employees, along with a terrace and multi-purpose meeting room that can be opened up to the lunch and work area.
All possible scenarios are envisaged, enabling work, creativity and concentration on the part of employees.
03 The Result
The main goal consisted of consolidating Havas as a modern, integrated agency, with all services within the same office building, providing them with a space whose image conveys full adaptation to the digital age and cultural transformation: A single, harmonious Havas family, with all communications and advertising agencies together under the same roof and geared towards matching and exceeding the expectations of clients.
All of this has become a reality in the HAVAS VILLAGE: Conceived as a symbolic, iconic office building for the Havas Group at the corner of the streets Eloy Gonzalo and Cardenal Cisneros, it is visible from a great distance and attractive to passers-by thanks to the large ground floor showroom windows exposing the interior of the client reception area, auditorium and bar. A veritable demonstration of the company philosophy of transparency and openness that is a trademark of the new HAVAS VILLAGES throughout the world.
