David DeMatteis is a 24+ year veteran of Cushman & Wakefield’s New Jersey Occupier Consulting Advisors. He has completed nearly 1000 real estate transactions on behalf of his clients including assignments for Selective Insurance, Proximo Spirits (Jose Cuervo), Bentall Green Oak, Onyx Equities, Ares Management, H-Mart and Tumi.

David recently acted as lead broker in the negotiation for Bank of America’s 550,000sf office lease at Newport Tower, Jersey City NJ. This record-breaking lease was the largest new office lease executed in New Jersey in the last decade.

In addition, David arranged Apprentice IO’s new headquarters at the top of 101 Hudson Street in Jersey City. During the global pandemic David assisted the firm in growing from 15 to 200 employees as the they developed software that propelled the “warp speed” manufacturing of the Moderna vaccine.

David has won Co-Star’s quarterly “Power Broker” award nine times in the past four years. Additionally, he won the “top leasing brokers” award for 2022 and 2023. He was also awarded the NJAIOP Deal of the Year for 2024, as ell as Costar’s 2023 Impact Deal of the Year award.

Other notable transactions include Hackensack Meridian Health’s 130,000 sf lease at 650 From Rd in Paramus, and Norris McLaughlin & Marcus 70,000 sf headquarters in Bridgewater. David negotiated a 60,000-sf build-to-suite facility in Hamilton to serve as a regional service center for Selective Insurance firm. 

David is Vice President of the Columbia University Club of NJ, and has served for the past 10 years on the Montclair Kimberly Academy Alumni Board.
