John Lewerenz joined Cushman & Wakefield in 1994 and currently serves as a Managing Director in the Brokerage Services Group.  During his 30-year career, he has specialized in developing and executing real estate strategies for both agency and occupier clients, with an emphasis in San Francisco and throughout the Bay Area.

Mr. Lewerenz received the Best Industrial Deal award from the San Francisco Business Times for representing FedEx in its acquisition of a 4.2 acre parcel for development of a new 120,000 square foot city center distribution facility.  The transaction also included representing the Callaghan Trust in the disposition of a 110,000 square foot building to achieve their overall objective of concurrently closing one transaction for the entire 6 acre city block. Mr. Lewerenz was co-recipient of Cushman & Wakefield’s Northern California Area Deal of the Year for his involvement in representing Gymboree in its 160,000 square foot headquarters office re-location to San Francisco. For 2018, Mr. Lewerenz received the San Francisco Business Times Real Estate Deal of the Year Award for his involvement in representing 10x Genomics in its 150,000 square foot headquarters office, R & D and lab re-location in Pleasanton, CA. In 2020, Mr. Lewerenz received the same award from the San Francisco Business Times for executing a 150,000 square foot lease expansion for 10x Genomics in Pleasanton, CA. Mr. Lewerenz has been recognized as one of C & W’s top brokers in Northern California and has been recognized nationally as one of Cushman & Wakefield’s top brokers.
