In 2021, Ms. Van der Heyden joined Cushman & Wakefield after 30 years in the real estate industry.  To date at C&W, she has completed projects for private equity portfolio companies and provided bankruptcy advisory/distressed market guidance and supported clients with office and industrial portfolios.  She is a US real estate advisor to EU-based companies and is involved in C&W’s Diversity Initiative. 

Prior to C&W, Ms. Van der Heyden was a Managing Director at Jones, Lang Lasalle for 12 years supporting clients with national portfolios.  She completed projects to integrate operations for Comcast NBC Universal following the acquisition by Comcast.  For ADP and Ipsos she handled leases across the US, with focus on optimizing footprints and upgrading facilities.  She also led projects for several European-based companies including Caudalie (warehouse building purchase in Carlstadt, NJ); Hermes (195,000 sf warehouse lease in South Brunswick, NJ); Telefonica  (sublease of New York sales office), Credit Agricole across the US encompassing office and disaster recovery locations; the Spanish Trade Commission (NY lease renewal); Ipsos (US portfolio) and Chantelle US HQ. 

For 15 years prior to her time at JLL, Ms. Van der Heyden was a leading broker at Newmark Knight Frank, handling a signature project for the United Nations negotiating three leases totaling over 750,000 sf to relocate all UN staff, for National Grid renegotiating its Brooklyn HQ lease and marketing excess properties for sale/redevelopment.  Additional key clients at Newmark, included Reed Elsevier, The Bank of New York, General Electric/NBC and Hub International.
